SYNC
An AI assistant to ease you through the entire networking process
SYNC
Due to the sheer volume of introductions at networking events, attendees struggle to initiate conversations and remember details of past interactions, hindering the ability to build genuine connections.

This problem led to an idea to create a multimodal AI assistant that captures conversation details like names, interests, or previous discussions. Upon meeting the same person again, the AI will prompt you with relevant information for conversation starters.

Timeline:
March 2024 - Current
01
Calendar
On the calendar page, users can find past recorded sessions and events as well as a brief summary of each event they attended. For example, on 6/12, this user connected with 32 people and had 4 conversations.
02
Summary
Sync will summarize conversations for you so you never miss an important detail. With highlights and full transcripts, users can do a deep dive into their conversations or briefly review what they talked about.
03
Follow Ups
Using information from saved recordings, Sync utilizes AI to create engaging conversation starters to get users the best chance of connecting.
04
Scanned Docs
Sync stores scanned hiring forms, business cards, etc. for users to quickly gain access to them.
Research
Opportunity
To start off, our team began looking for an opportunity space. Somewhere that current products were failing to meet. When running a competitive analysis there was a gap where 3D interfaces meets analogs and physical memory devices.
User Interviews
Before we started to design a solution, we conducted user interviews to learn more about how Augmented Reality can help people create meaningful connections while networking. Based on these initial findings, I highlighted my key takeaways from those who attend professional networking events.
Importance of recall
  • Retaining information from professional networking events is crucial for establishing connections, yet challenging to recall specific details from conversations.
Potential for 3D Interfaces
  • Exploring the use of 3D interfaces has the potential to facilitate smoother information capture without interrupting the flow of conversation at networking events.
Leveraging AI
  • Traditional networking relies heavily on manual information capture methods like note-taking apps or memorizing "fun facts." These approaches are disruptive to real-time interactions and prone to memory limitations.
Design Direction
Sketches
We started with 22 sketches and categorized them into 6 groups. We then rated all of them to discover which ones were most promising.
Story Boarding
Our next step was to draw out a story board to visualize how our product would work. This helped us prioritize which interfaces we wanted to start out with.
Moodboard
This mood board showcases a dynamic and futuristic aesthetic, centered around a circular light board that exudes a modern and sleek vibe. The primary colors are neon green and black, creating a striking contrast that embodies energy and sophistication. The neon green adds a vibrant, electric touch, while the black grounds the design with an edgy, contemporary feel.
